It is located in Central Anatolia and ranks as the fifth highest summit in Turkey. At the base of the mountain is the Tekir Highland (2100 meters) used by nomadic shepherds in the summer for grazing goats.The man-made cavern found just under the summit of Mount Erciyes is evidence that this mountain was ascended in early times. According to old records, the first official climb was undertaken by an English man, W.J.Hamilton in 1837. This mountaineer was a member of the British Geological Association. 		10-Day Mount Erciyes & Aladag Tour: In the winter months this is an exhilerating cross-country and downhill ski tour on snow-capped mountain ranges. We will make camp then trek uphill on skis. At the end of the day, we will ski part way downhill and make a new camp, each day cross-country skiing further uphill, then skiing part way back downhill. In the summer months skis are not used. Day 1 - Istanbul to Kayseri Transfer to Istanbul airport for flight to Kayseri, then drive to Mount Erciyes (or drive from Ankara to Mount Erciyes via Kayseri) and overnight at the mountain chalet on Mount Erciyes Days 2-3 - Mount Erciyes Skiing Two days skiing or trekking on Mount Erciyes with overnights at the mountain chalet Day 3 - Yukari Kavron Two- to four-hour walk to Yukari Kavron on Mount Erciyes Day 4 - Aladag Range Four-hour drive to Cukurbag village on Aladag Range (central Taurus) and overnight at mountain camp. Day 5-7 - Aladag Range Three days skiing or trekking on Aladag Range (Taurus) with overnigths at mountain camps Day 6 - Dupeduz Trek to Dupeduz via Caymakcur Pass (3100 meters) Day 7 - Trek to Dilberduzu Day 8 - Derinkuyu and Cappadocia Drive from central Taurus to city of Cappadocia, visiting Derinkuyu (underground city) on the way; overnight at the hotel Day 9 - Cappadocia Full day sightseeing tour of Cappadocia with overnight at the hotel Day 10 - Kayseri Drive from Cappadocia to Kayseri						Rates: Please contact us for rates.
